Sticky fingers and lots of laughs proved to be the perfect recipe to celebrate the Rotary annual changeover with new friends and old pals. Master Chef Ron Sushi led a sushi making fundraiser and social event on July 7th at the Obregon household in North Vancouver. Funds raised will support our club's international Project Amigo, helping children of migrant workers in Colima, Mexico attend school.

At age 28, Dan MacQueen's healthy, active life was upended when he was handed a sealed envelope and told to go directly to the hospital during an optometrist appointment to identify the cause of his persistent headaches. Dan survived two emergency brain surgeries, weeks in a coma, and months in a rehab hospital. 
 

Today, Dan speaks to groups about the strategies he used to achieve his goals, one step at a time. He spoke at our July 26th meeting and left us with much food for thought, including this advice from Confucius: "We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.”
