The club participates each year in two major foundation programs.

The Rotary Foundation, the arm of Rotary International that funds Rotary's charitable work throughout the world, is the charity of choice for over a million Rotarians worldwide. Members, clubs and districts in every country contribute annually to further the work of this part of our organization. TRF has, ever since the 1980s, been working tirelessly to eliminate the dread disease of polio from the entire world by innoculating children in polio-endemic countries. Over the 25+ years of this effort, new cases of polio have declined by more than 99 percent from their 1980s levels. Currently, TRF is dedicated to ending polio forever, with only three countries left on the polio-endemic list. In addition, TRF offers fellowships for advanced degrees in peace and resolution conflict at several major universities located in various countries. And, TRF funds many other international projects, many by providing matching funds for qualified club and district projects in designated areas, such as child and maternal health, literacy, clean water, etc. Rotarians are encouraged to contribute to TRF annually, and may designate that their contributions be directed either to polio eradication or to annual programs in other areas.

The Rotary Club of Vancouver Sunrise Foundation is a club-administered fund which was originally endowed by members some years ago for the purpose of providing scholarships for post-secondary education which are awarded to two graduating students at King George Secondary School in Vancouver's West End. The committee is currently considering a possible expansion of the dollar value and the scope of this club foundation, which is registered as a BC charity and provides tax receipts for all donations.
