This week we welcomed 9 members, visiting Rotarian Gloria Gonzalez from Puerto Vallarta and Tom Mooney from Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports.




* Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports instructor Tom Mooney invite community members to an evening of film in support of the organization, which aims to make the mountain experience accessible to all and runs skiing and snowboarding programs for people with disabilities at Grouse, Seymour, and Cypress. The film Into the Mind will be screened, a story of rising to the ultimate challenge, Wednesday, Oct. 22, 6-9 p.m. at Capilano University’s BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts. *October 14th we will be serving with other volunteers, including the Salvation Army and Strathcona Youth at the Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser for Street Front. Please sign up with Abigail.


* Sunday, October 21/18, The Yaletown Club is holding a "Bowling for Kenya" Event in Burnaby. 1pm to 4:30pm


The cost is $25 per person and includes 2 hours bowling, some food & refreshments, and shoe rental. Proceeds go to their water harvesting project.

Guest Speaker

Our guest speaker today was Spencer Chandra Herbert, MLA for Vancouver-Burrard. 


Among the various topics he covered in his presentation, he spoke in favour of proportional representation, which he considers a more fair system compared to the first past the post system we have in place now.
